Historic Futures - Company Overview Historic Futures Limited (HF) was founded in 2003, in the wake of the BSE crisis ('Mad Cow Disease') and headlines about global brands' use of sweatshops and child labour. Although not obviously related,  both of these issues had their foundations in the problem that it was not easy to understand where products were coming from. Looking beyond the immediate suppliers for any organisation, whether that was the meat suppliers in a supermarket or the clothes rail of a major brand, was almost impossible. Nobody, not even the retailers themselves, had any idea where their products were coming from. With this in mind, Tim Wilson and Simon Warrick founded HF in order to provide full supply chain traceability at batch level - the kind of traceability capable of providing authentic information on product provenance. They developed the online platform String, which is used by organisations all over the world to record product and process data and provide this information to customers, enabling traceability throughout the extended supply chain.
